Manny Pacquiao Got Knocked Out!

Floyd Mayweather might be willing to fight Manny Pacquiao now that the Pacman has not only lost two fights in a row, but this time he got knocked the **** out!

Yes, the former unstoppable boxer from the Philippines is now appearing to be, well--stoppable.

The blow soon to be heard around the boxing world came at the 2:59 mark of the sixth round. Up to the moment when Juan Manuel Marquez threw the counter punch that floored Pacquiao the round was going Manny's way.

Apparently Marquez works pretty hard at countering with his right and that's what he was able to tag Pacquiao with. Manny had this to say after the fight in regards to the punch:

"I got hit by a punch I didn't see."

It was actually the second time that the bulked up Marquez knocked Pacquiao down. The first time came in the third. However, Manny returned the favor in the fifth.

This was the fourth time that the two boxers have fought. The 2004 fight ended in a draw even though Manny had knocked Marquez down three times. Manny won the 2008 fight by split decision. Both were somewhat controversial with many thinking that Marquez deserved to win both. Manny won the third fight last year by majority decision (two judges scored the fight for him with the third scoring it  a draw).

What will be interesting now is how much interest remains in the fight that everyone has wanted, but appeared to be a pipe dream. Rumors in recent days had a 55-45 split for Mayweather in regards to what will easily still be the biggest pay-per-view fight in the history of the sport with the purse estimated at somewhere in the $180 million range.

There will certainly be questions surrounding that now as well. Rapper turned promoter 50 Cent has promised he can make the fight happen. Will Floyd use Manny's second defeat in a row as a negotiating tool to demand more money? Will he even be willing to do it now since Pacquiao now appears to be the falling star? Does he want to lower himself to that level? Does he want to be the nail in Pacquiao's coffin?

As for Manny, does he still have the desire? Floyd has looked amazing in his recent fights. Can he get up enough to challenge him? Is he done, or can the mega-fight actually happen and bring him back from the dead?

Only time will tell.
