Heartbreaking!
To make matters worse he has had to field countless questions about the future of his team, what went wrong, and what he is going to do to fix it. He made a big move when he let Rob Ryan go (one that few could support with a straight face), but then was able to follow it up by bringing on Monte Kiffin to take over.
It would be nice if that could be it, but when you are America's Team and you have been playing mediocre for years the hits keep coming. Many are calling for the figurative heads of head coach Jason Garrett and quarterback Tony Romo--both of whom Jones has defended giving cause for even more criticism!
With all that going on you would think that there could be no more hits for the beleaguered owner of the 'Boys, but it isn't.
The pride and joy of his beautiful stadium--the enormous Jumbo Tron that made national news when the stadium opened in 2009.
It was huge; one of a kind. It was even certified as the largest of its kind (at the time). Reaching from 20-yard line to 20-yard line this sucker was immense. In a word--it was special.
Yes, I said was.
Early this season it was announced that in-state rival, the Houston Texans, were going to be installing an even larger Jumbo Tron than the one in Cowboys Stadium. Being outdone in the state where everything is advertised as bigger and better is not good. At least in this case the team was being outdone by another Texas team (takes the sting out of it a little).
Except now a college team is going to best the 'Boys; not just any college team, but one that has only won six games in the last three seasons--the UNLV Rebels.
Outdone by a college team? a crappy college team? So now the Jumbo Tron to beat all jumbo trons is just another jumbo tron?
Say it ain't so Jerry! Say it ain't so!
