There is an old song that talked about how it hurts so good. If you don't know it go ask Mom and Dad about it. They might start singing a little didy about Jack and Dianne (totally the wrong one, but popular) or they'll get it right:
"Hurt so good/ come on baby make it hurt so good/ sometimes love don't feel like it should/ you make it hurt so good."
While the lyrics may have made for a hit song for John Cougar Mellencamp back in 1982 they don't provide Seattle Seahawks fans with much comfort after an incredible second half come back came up short in the end (Marshawn Lynch might have something to say about how the hurt doesn't feel good).
It was a tale of two halves that saw the 'Hawks not look so hot in the first half, but when Russell Wilson was able to get it going and his defense turned it up--talk about game on! A furious rally in the fourth quarter saw Wilson lead his team on three touchdown drives to take a one-point lead with 31 seconds to go.
The only problem to that was there was still enough time for Matt Ryan to work some magic--and he did:
A 22-yarder to Hugh Douglass and a 19-yarder to Tony Gonzalez led to the play above and a 2-point lead for Atlanta.
Now what was cool here is that the game was still far from over. The Falcons thought they would make sure the ball didn't get in the hands of Leon Washington so they tried the squib kick. The only problem is the ball has to make it past the front line--which it did not.
Seattle knocked down the ball around midfield giving them a realistic shot at a sideline pass and a long kick. However, a short pass and a long bomb led to a long bomb. This time the refs were not able to mess this call up. Atlanta intercepted it ending a great run for Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle Seahawks: 28 Atlanta Falcons: 30
