So what does a team that just lost 37-36 do? If you're the head coach you don't start throwing people under the bus. Oh-- wait.
The easy thing to do when you have a collapse like that is point the finger at someone, or if you are the head coach to take the fault yourself. It appears like Garrett decided to go with the former.
That wasn't all. Garret made sure that it was clear who was responsible for the team going almost completely away from the run in the second half; a move that was pretty shocking since the 'Boys had averaged a good seven yards a carry (they ran it just seven times in the second half).
Romo did end up taking the fault for making the wrong call himself, but Garrett's action are a little surprising and aggressive. He was not happy when he had the play calling duties taken away from him prior to the start of the season. His displeasure with the possibility was evident every time he was asked over the course of the off-season.
While his angst is understandable, expressing it like he did was a little unprofessional (not to mention out of character). With the playoffs and the division title still in play the team will have to figure a way past their last two failures or else.

Funny how Garrett isn't professional enough to take responsibility for this team.

What is Romo supposed to do?......score 85 points a game, and hope the defense doesn't give up 87 ??
There is not another NFL team that wouldn't love to have Romo playing for them.
Man up Garrett, Jones,!............take some responsibility for this mess!
I'd say there needs to be a house cleaning, but Jones will never do it. Probably because he needs to go or step down first.
DeleteRomo had his moments (again); however, in spite of that, he and the newly rejuvenated running game are the ONLY reasons the Cowboys are not looking at a 12 game losing season. Clueless coaching and an utterly ridicules defense are to blame. Unless Jones swallows his “pride” and puts together a real coaching staff, Dallas will never return to “greatness”! Never!

DeleteMost armchair quarterbacks could have guided the Cowboys to victory yesterday. The professionals were absolutely clueless, from the owner on down to the quarterback. What an shame that they lost yesterday's game. How do they get paid to be so stupid?
