Washington State Rep Sends (and Deletes) Racial Tweet After Seahawks Lost to Cardinals

Call me crazy, but as a politician isn't it a good idea to stay up on current events? I'm talking about more than just the international incidents and what not, but the things that are grasping the attention of the populace (like the marketing exec that sent a really dumb tweet about Aids and Africa and was fired before her plane landed). 

If Washington State Representative Joe Fitzgibbon had done that he might not have sent this ill-advised and really stupid tweet:

Apparently he was a little upset that the Seattle Seahawks lost their first home game since Christmas Eve of 2011 (a 19-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. So with his politicians mind intact he decided to send out the above tweet.

Stupid. No better way to describe it. Just plain stupid.

He almost topped the absurdity of his original tweet with his apology by trying to brush off his racist comment as something vaguely topical:

Upset re hawks loss, and failure of smart immigration reform--shouldn't have conflated the 2 though. Happy holidays, better for both in '14

Pretty weak man. You would have been better off trying to come up with some kind of quip about the Cardinals eating Skittles on the sideline. Something like "No wonder they won; they took all of Marshawn Lynch's Beast Mode pills!"
