Of course teams can't do that if the surrounding players are good enough, but if that is the case voters will look at the individual player more as being a part of a talented whole rather than recognize his excellence for what it is.

If you have a player that is an impact player (with the stats to back it up) on defense and rushes (or catches) for a couple hundred yards and 10 touchdowns (say out of red zone packages) he would have to win. Not only is he keeping the other team from scoring, but he is scoring himself.
Call me crazy, but Ole Miss defensive lineman and part time running back Robert Nkemdiche looks like he might be able to do it. The Rebels have him run a few times this year and he's been pretty effective. In high school he had just under 800 yards and 27 touchdowns his junior and senior year.
Take that kind of impact on offense and combine it with stellar play on defense and voters will have a hard time not recognizing this guy.
