The Charlotte Bobcats don’t suck.
The team that set a new low for single-season winning percentage
last year could not find a win if they were playing themselves last year. How
the team got the handful of wins they did get was a mystery. They had a lot of
raw talent, but they didn’t seem to know how to craft it and transform it into
solid basketball team.
Enter a new head coach and a roster turnover and the
Charlotte Bobcats barely look anything like they did last year. Heck, the team
even redesigned its uniforms! For what it’s worth—it all appears to be working
too.
Kemba Walker’s jumper Wednesday night with less than a
second to go set the stage for something that the team had not seen in a very
long time. It gave them a win, 89-87, but not just any win. It’s their third in
a row.
Charlotte hasn’t won three in a row for nearly two seasons
(about 20 months).
I know the team could still nose dive from here, but for now
they are 4-3—they have a winning record! They have a young team that is only
going to get better from here. Personally, I was unsure about Jordan hiring
Mike Dunlap, but he appears to be getting the job done.
Going forward I hope the team is able to continue to build
off their early success. There are few things that are more exciting than a team rising from the ashes.
