The Absolutely Last Call Me Maybe Parody You'll Ever Want to Watch--and You Do Want to Watch This One

Carly Rae Jepsen's little tune is catchy. Without knowing it you can find yourself humming the tune and singing the song. It just has a way of sticking with you.

Which is exactly why we are glad the darn thing has fallen out of favor in the forefront of American pop culture (enough was enough man).

In its prime, the song inspired countless numbers of people to do little parody videos. Many of them were done really well and I can honestly say I thought they were good. There were just as many others that were simply horrid and never should have been posted online.

When it all comes down to it , we've had enough of them. It's good that Gangnam style came along and pushed "Call Me Maybe" to the back of the line.

However, before you decide that you are glad that you have seen the last of that peppy song you have to watch this video made by some soldiers over in Afghanistan. They used as inspiration the video that the Miami Dolphins cheerleaders did.

I'm not a huge fan of all these parodies that have been popping up, but this one is excellent. This is not just because I think soldiers should always be given respect for what they do because of what they can do. The production quality was top notch, the lip syncing worked, and the blocking was spot on.

Enough of me talking. The first one is the video that the soldiers made; the second has theirs side by side with the Dolphins one they copied:

Excellent job gentleman. With that I think we can officially put this trend to bed (not maybe--definitely).
