At one time going to the Pro Bowl meant that you were being
recognized as one of the best in the game not only by the fans, but by your
peers and the coaches around the league as well. It is the one way that an
individual could have his effort recognized.
However, it did mean that you were expected to play in an
all-star type game. Anyone that watched the game last season can’t deny that
the play was bad. Several times players were obviously giving up on plays.
Linemen did not have to block, but that was often because no one was rushing.
