Controversy sells; we all know that. So how better to promote your product then to say that one of the most polarizing players in the Super Bowl--Ray Lewis--is only playing because your product helped him heal from what should have been a season ending injury.
This is knowing that it could severely damage the legacy of Lewis and make people wonder about him even more than they already do thanks to his murder trial from over a decade ago, but he doesn't care about that. That is what makes it controversial and gives him the publicity that he wants.
Much more about Lewis and his product has been said throughout the week (Lewis is in the clear). The whole story took a turn for the worse (for Ross) when for some odd reason he opted to give a little press conference Friday.
I am surprised that there isn't a video of this press conference; this sucker would be internet gold! But alas if it exists I cannot find it. However, Ian Rappaport of NFL.com was kind enough to tweet some great nuggets.
Mitch started off on the right foot trying to distance himself from the SI article that got this mess started. He apologized to the players that may have been hurt in the process. Ross tried to say he was 'cat-fished' by the magazine and misled to the purpose of the article.
That's when things got bad.
"...God sent him to the Ravens with holograms to help them..."
What? Holograms? It turns out they are stickers that guys wear and draw an endless amount off energy from. Sounds a lot like the drugs that were being sold in this clip from Batman Beyond.
Apparently his concern for hurting the players was short lived because he started name-dropping:

"...Brett Favre called him in 2009 and asked for a "full
body sticker."..."
"...Ray Lewis paid him with an endorsement that was supposed to
give #Ravens holograms forever..."
The second to best line had to be when he talked about not being concerned about giving NFL players a banned substance (which he promoted as being in the product) since the NFL doesn't test for it (challenge?). The best was this:
"Mitch Ross tells me I have 2 brains. I think we may be done
here..."
Wow. Mitch any progress you may have made should be lost if it isn't. I can only guess that the reason there isn't any video is that you threatened to beat anyone down that took any because you knew what kind of freak you would come off as.
I would be curious to see if he sounds as unstable as the tweets make him out to be. If he is, then I would seriously question putting anything he's selling into my body.

It is nice to know that no deer are harmed in the making of your product.
