Fans of the Houston Rockets have had plenty to cheer about this season, but will they finally be able to cheer some post season play?
For the last three seasons fans of the Houston Rockets have not had anyone to cheer for come playoff time. Each season the team finished in ninth; the worst spot you can possibly be in (so close, yet so far).
To make the post season blues even worse, the Rockets were actually in playoff position for much of the last two seasons. An inability to close out the season and win when it counted most left the fans disappointed and the team done playing come mid-April.
Last season it was a six-game losing streak the last couple weeks of the season that opened the door for the Utah Jazz and Dallas Mavericks to walk through.
Utah did it with a five-game winning streak to close the season. Dallas tried to give the Rockets every chance possible to get it together losing seven in April. Houston topped them by losing eight.
Two years ago New Orleans and Memphis tried to open a door for Houston to step into the post season. The Hornets lost four of their last seven and the Grizzlies three, but the Rockets failed to capitalize by losing three of their own in the same stretch...
