Guess I'll get my fine money ready #loweringtheboomfund

Those changes have been widely accepted (and were expected), but its another one that has many players--especially running backs--up in arms.
Starting this coming season ball carriers will not be allowed to lower there heads and hit opponents with the crown of their helmets once they get outside the tackle box. The idea is safety oriented, but running backs think it changes the competitive landscape a little too much since it takes away one of their weapons.
A lot of guys wasted no time venting their frustrations on Twitter:
Next year they'll probably be a no jumping over defenders rule... #loweringtheboomfund

My main concern is that the rules are just too confusing at times. Ex. When can a RB lower his head now to protect himself?

Football will be destroyed because of "player safety" rules. “@davis_winkie: @jennings141 anynews on thepossible ruleto protect us snappers?

Soon everyone will get a trophy for participation

This is pretty ridiculous. So what running backs are essentially going to have to do is relearn how to run and how to go into contact by next season or face getting fined. I get what you want to do Roger, but this is getting out of hand.
Let them play!
