Players not Happy with New Helmet Rule

The NFL took care of a couple rules that needed to be changed eliminating the "tuck" rule and altering the coach's challenge so that something like the mess in Detroit last Thanksgiving (the infamous Justin Forsett touchdown run) never happens again.

Those changes have been widely accepted (and were expected), but its another one that has many players--especially running backs--up in arms.

Starting this coming season ball carriers will not be allowed to lower there heads and hit opponents with the crown of their helmets once they get outside the tackle box. The idea is safety oriented, but running backs think it changes the competitive landscape a little too much since it takes away one of their weapons.

A lot of guys wasted no time venting their frustrations on Twitter:

This is pretty ridiculous. So what running backs are essentially going to have to do is relearn how to run and how to go into contact by next season or face getting fined. I get what you want to do Roger, but this is getting out of hand.

Let them play!
