Montreal Canadiens Forward Lars Eller Taken Off on Stretcher After Monster Hit

Canadiens forward Lars Eller had to be removed from the ice via stretcher after taking a hard hit from Ottawa Senators defenseman Eric Gryba. I have to say that after watching this whack my own head hut a little!

"Lars Eller suffered a head and facial injury," the team said. "He is conscious and alert. He has been taken to the hospital for further examination and will remain under observation."
This is the kind of thing that may be part of the game and the risk that every player takes when they step onto the ice, but it still sucks when you see it happen.

Gryba was ejected for an interference major and already has a hearing scheduled with the league for Friday at noon.
