And they have.
Peterson has previously stated that he he does not have an issue with gay people or the concept of gay marriage, but that it isn't his thing. In an interview with an Oklahoma paper on Monday he was asked a few more questions about what he thought about playing with a gay teammate.
True to his original statements he said it wouldn't bother him at all, but then when asked what he thought about showering in the locker room with a gay teammate (because locker room showers are open) he wasn't too crazy about the idea.
“...of course, anyone would be uncomfortable. But you know, I’m a grown man. There are things that I can deal with. I’m comfortable in my."
Okay, fair enough and totally in line with what he has already said. He expanded on those thought a little more with this to make sure it was clear that he was fine with playing with a gay teammate.
“I’ll still high-five them. Pat them on the butt when he’s doing good, and go on about my business.”Peterson's voice when it comes to a gay player in the NFL has been refreshing and continues to be just that. When most of the voices we hear are dramatically for or against the idea, it is good to hear one that probably falls more in line with the majority of the league and society.
We always hear about the zealots, but most people are more like AP. They have their opinion (which they are entitled to), but at the same time they respect the opinion, choice, and/or lifestyle of others because they are just as entitled.

I love how he's so diplomatic, but still not afraid to tell the truth about where he stands...far my favorite Viking ever...
