If the San Antonio Spurs Were on Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore was built with the intention of honoring history. At first it was going to be history of the West, but its creators decided it should have more of a national focus instead.

Hence the faces of Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln—pivotal people in American history—memorialized in the face of a mountain in South Dakota.

But what if it was something or someone else that was being honored? What if it was your favorite sports team? NBCSports.com has been posing that question to football fans, but what about basketball fans?



Who would be on a San Antonio Spurs Mount Rushmore? It would have to be four people that really defined the game, played it to a high level, and made fans proud to be associated with the San Antonio Spurs.

The franchise was founded in 1967 so there are plenty of players to choose from, but in the end the right choices are pretty clear....
