Indiana Hoosiers Jump on the Crazy Chrome Helmet Craze

The Indiana Hoosiers have joined in on the crazy helmet craze that has been sweeping college football the last couple of years. Monday Head Coach Kevin Wilson presented the five--yes, five--new designs that the Hoosiers will be wearing at different times throughout the season.

And they are--well, ummm....special.

Here is a video of Coach Wilson making the big reveal:

I think the chrome one is obnoxious, but from the video it is pretty easy to see the guys like it a lot. Since a number of teams sported the chrome look last season I can only guess that it's a generational thing or just me. Thankfully I am allowed an opinion just like the next guy.

I get the occasional redesign of uniforms. You want to keep things fresh and looking sharp, and not retro 24/7. That's understandable. Why five helmets for a season? I don't get that either.

Now, that being said I think the Indiana flag one is pretty darn sharp. The rest (minus the chrome monstrosity) are okay too. I'll never get why they need five, but then again I don't get why Oregon needs so many uniforms either.

Anyway...here are the helmets.
