Statistical Oddities Abound in Game 4 of the NBA Finals

There are some things that you just don't expect to see in an NBA game. After one half of play in Game 4 there are certainly a number of things that are surprising to say the least.

Kudos to the boys (or girls) at CBS Sports for taking the time during halftime to discover these numbers. Me? I was busy going to the bathroom, getting another beer, and heating up some chicken fingers.

  • One offensive rebound between the two teams (for the Heat)
  • San Antonio goes from living by the three in Game 3 to going just 4-7 in Game 4
  • Miami has yet to make one (0-3)
  • San Antonio is shooting better from the floor and have more free throws but they are not winning

The fact that the game is tied could possibly be attributed to the 10 turnovers the Spurs have made relative to Miami's 4 giving the Heat more shots (they have five more shots, making two of them).

But if it was all about the numbers than the geeks like Paul Allen, Bill Gates would be running the show.

Oh, wait...
