Texas Rangers Appear to Have Regained Their Swagger

The first half of July was rough on the Texas Rangers. They entered the month with a 34-20 record and had been basically kicking behind and taking names. Fifteen days and fourteen games later and they were 38-30 and no longer in control of the AL West.

After dropping four in a row to the Toronto Blue Jays and only scoring four runs in the process it wasn’t looking good for the Rangers heading into a four game home stand against the now division leading Athletics they needed a boost.

And they got it.
"We could have gotten buried if we didn't play well,'' manager Ron Washington said of the potential consequences of the series.
Play well they did!

The offense exploded for 23 runs in the series while getting enough out of the pitching and defense to take three out of the four games.
"Three out of four is always big, especially when we've been struggling," said closer Joe Nathan. "And against this team, it's definitely a nice confidence-booster. Hopefully, it's a sign that we're going to come out on the other end.''
Does taking three of four give mean they have turned a corner?...
