And the Best Hit From College Football Action Thursday Night Belonged to...

Thursday night was significant in two ways: it marked the end of the NFL preseason and the beginning of the college football season. Any guesses as to which was better?

Now if you were like me you watched at least part of the South Carolina/North Carolina game hoping to see Jadeveon Clowney smack the daylights out of someone. Instead we saw a guy that looked either out of shape or sick. Whatever it was he certainly wasn't smacking anyone on the field .

Lucky for us there were plenty of guys that did--like the one above that UNC's Allen Champagne laid on Victor Hampton--and he wasn't the last!

Hawaii's quarterback Taylor Graham did a nice job of laying out one of USC's defender!

Ole Miss DB Cody Pruitt hit Vanderbilt WR Jordan Mathews so hard he started throwing up on the field! To his credit, the man returned and later caught a key fourth and long pass to convert the first down (next play was a touchdown pass).

Ole Miss was really laying the wood on Vanderbilt. Channing Ward introduced himself here with authority!

So what do you think sports fans? Who had the Hit of the Night? Any other candidates?
