Anyone Notice Johnny Manziel's New Tattoo?

Last Saturday saw Johnny Manziel, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, return to action. As could be expected he showed fans-- and haters--just why he is one of the best players in college football today. He also added a little fuel to the haters' fire (although he could save a baby from a burning building and people would still bash him).

Lost in the three touchdown day and the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was his new tattoo.

OVO stands for 'October's Very Own.' It is the birth month of his favorite rapper, Drake, and happens to also be the name of Drake's label. During the summer Manziel called meeting Drake the highlight of his summer. Drake later returned the love by giving Manziel props for how he handled the SEC Media Day.

What is actually surprising here is not that Johnny Football has a tattoo or that the fact that he has one is being treated as news, but the fact that it has taken this long for it to become public considering the spotlight that he lives under.

Does it matter or even mean anything? Absolutely not, but I am sure that the haters will find someone to make it mean something terrible.

  1. The fact that you actually wrote an article on it answers your own question.
