He may have slowed down a little since the All-Star break, but I think it is safe to say that Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis is still having one heck of a season. Friday night he took a step towards making it a record breaking one.

When he was with the Texas Rangers the team thought he would be something special at the plate, but he simply struck out way too much to keep around. After he hit home run No. 50 to help the Orioles to a 5-3 win Friday night I'm sure some folks in Arlington wish they still had him.
With 15 games left to play it is only a matter of time before the record becomes his.
With it he also became just the third player in MLB history to hit 50 or more home runs in a season along with 40 or more doubles. The only other two--Babe Ruth and Albert Belle.
