Defense Puts the ‘D’ in Dallas for the Cowboys

If the Dallas Cowboys ever wanted a sign that things would be different this season they got it Sunday night—they actually beat the Giants at home!

When Jerry Jones opened his brand new stadium in 2009 he knew there was no better way to do it than to score a victory over the team’s long time division rival, the New York Giants. That game appeared well in hand at one point, but somehow the Giants managed to pull out an incredible win—and they haven’t lost in Dallas since.

That is, until now.

It took a six-turnover, two touchdown performance by the Dallas defense to do it, but the Cowboys finally beat the New York Giants in Cowboys Stadium (excuse me—AT&T Stadium) 36-31 Sunday night. Jones, of course, found a way to take credit for the win.

"I’m going to do whatever it takes to beat these Giants," Jones said. "I changed the name of the stadium, so we’ll do whatever comes up next to get that done."

What was actually needed was a change of philosophy on defense, and the Cowboys appear to have it....
