Stupid Move By Houston Texans Rookie Does Not Cost Him His Job

There are certainly players that an undrafted player like Houston Texans rookie A.J. Bouye should try to emulate. Terrell Owens is not one of them.

The former University of Central Florida defensive back was one of the many players fighting for a job during Thursday night's preseason finale with the Dallas Cowboys. While he did make a good play on the ball in order to haul in an interception what he did afterwards was, well--stupid.

With the game being played at the home of the Dallas Cowboys he gave fans a case of deja vu by running out to the star in the center of the field in order to celebrate--just like a certain wide receiver that can't find a job because no one likes him.



Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips let him know what he thought about the move (not good). I am sure he heard more about in the locker room after the game. To his credit he did own up to it after the game and admitted it was not the smartest thing to do.

“I wasn’t thinking, I was being stupid,” Bouye said. “It was disrespectful for me to do it, for the team and the other team. I wasn’t thinking. . . . They don’t teach us to do that. For me to even do that was disrespectful.”

When you are undrafted and playing for your career costing the team 15-yards for something as stupid as a celebration is not the brightest move to make. It did not cost him his job though; he survived the final round of cuts.

Than again, if guys were to get cut for doing something stupid there would be a few rosters that would have trouble fielding a team!
