So when we here about one opponent (Alabama) paying some respect to another (Texas A&M) its kind of cool--especially since it came from an assistant coach and Nick Saban doesn't like it when his guys talk to the media (hee hee).

While talking to a group in Mobile, Alabama, linebackers coach Lance Thompson had this to say about Manziel:
"I'm a Johnny Manziel groupie because we've watched him so much," Thompson said, according to al.com.
Pretty harmless statement, but exactly the kind of stuff that the media loves to eat up. The substantive part of the conversation came when he talked about what Manziel has done to his team's defense the last two years--907 yards of total offense!
Thompson went on to say that he thinks Manziel is still right in the thick of the Heisman race despite the two losses:
"...Johnny sees the field as well as anybody I've ever played against. He reminds me of Fran Tarkenton, if some of you remember him. And that cat is hard to get down."There is nothing wrong with admiring your enemy. The game is supposed to be heated and hotly contested on the field--not off like so many teams do nowadays.
So kudos to you Coach Thompson for speaking your mind--and if Saban has any issues with it just tell him to relax before you start a Saban-to-Texas rumor (and to relax)!
