The preseason is for players to essentially get some practice in, but against an opponent in a different colored jersey. It is so teams can work on getting their starting five on the same page and see where their role players are going to fit in.
It's also for players to work on their individual skills as well--like dunking.
The Clippers are known for their high-flying dunk friendly game so it is important to have your dunking game together. It's s good thing that Sacramento was not too concerned about playing defense and DeAndre Jordan was able to get a second chance here.
Either that or the Kings were surprised that he missed.
