Dwight Howard Greets the Houston Fans and then Gives them a Show

After making the deal in the off-season for Dwight Howard the spotlight on the Houston Rockets wet from flickering to full-on, bright as day high beams--and rightfully so. D12 was supposed to be the future in Los Angeles, but is now expected to be the man in Houston.

So after game No. 1 was he  worth the hype?

Absolutely!

Howard never really meshed wit the fans in LA, but has clearly made a point to be fan-friendly in Houston starting off the night with the intro you see above. Kinda cool, right?

But how was his game? Was it exactly as expected or is he the D12 that fans in LA saw last season?

Dwight wasted little time getting his first regular season basket as a Rocket (see above), and was exactly the kind of beast that Houston fans wanted pulling down a career high 26 rebounds and scoring 17 points.

Lakers fans may try to find solace in the fact that this game was against the lowly Charlotte Bobcats (which the Rockets won 98-83), but as far as Houston fans are concerned its a pretty good start.
