Florida Atlantic Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator Escorted Out of Football Office by Police

A tough season for the Florida Atlantic football team just took a pretty dramatic turn. Head Coach Carl Pelini and defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis have resigned from their positions. That isn't unheard of for coaches on losing teams, but this had nothing to do with football.

It's because they guys apparently had a little too much fun at a recent social function.

Both Carl Pelini and defensive coordinator Pete Rekstis have admitted to what has been classified as illegal drug use. Athletic Director Pat Chun found out about the incident at Monday and reported it to the proper people at the university.

For some reason the two were allowed to resign instead of being fired, but the university still had them escorted out of team facilities by police:

I can't help but wonder how this is going to affect their respective careers. Colleges are not going to be too eager to take them on in fear of a future PR disaster. Heck, even high schools may not be too interested. No one wants a guy that sets the wrong example for the kids he's coaching.
