James Taylor Makes Mistake With the National Anthem Prior to Game Two of the World Series

James Taylor is legend. The man has forgotten more hit songs than most artist can even dream of aspiring to. With music that stands the test of time his legion of fans seems to grow with each passing year. So it is no surprise that he was asked to sing the National Anthem prior to the start of Game Two of the World Series in Boston Thursday night.

Even though he has sung the National Anthem almost as many times as he has How Sweet it is (to be Loved By You) he made a mistake at the beginning of the song.

Whoops! America the Beautiful isn't till later!

Ever the pro he caught himself pretty quick and transitioned seamlessly into the right song. It is unlikely that he actually forgot the song; just made a mental error. We all make them--just not in front of thousands of people in person and millions more on television.

Perhaps he was already thinking about singing American the Beautiful during the 7th inning stretch with some of the survivors of the Boston Marathon attack--which was a pretty awesome performance by the way.
