Aaron Rodgers Goes Down With a Fractured Collarbone [UPDATED]

The worst thing that could possibly happen to the Green Bay Packers happened early in Monday night's game against the Chicago Bears--quarterback Aaron Rodgers was hurt. It was a fairly routine sack, but when you land on your shoulder like he does here bad things happen.

The team wasted little time ruling him out for the game. After spending some time in the locker room he eventually returned to the field in sweats--and thankfully without his arm in a sling. However late in the game Adam Hoge (Bears reporter for CBS out of Chicago) sent this tweet out into the world:

I am not a medicine man so I'll have to trust this doctor's tweet on the possible recovery time should he indeed have a fractured colalrbone:

Should he need six weeks with the games the Packers have ahead I could see them going 4-2 (best case scenario), but it is more likely they will go 3-3. Is able to come back for the last three games he could still lead Green Bay into the post season as a wildcard.

So cross your fingers Green Bay fans and hope for the best.

[UPDATE] I'm now seeing stuff claiming that its just a mild AC sprain. So who knows what his injury actually is. I'll be sure and update this whenever I hear something from a better source.

[UPDATE, 11/5 @ 9:44] The early reports have now been confirmed. Aaron Rodgers does have a broken collarbone and is expected to miss 3 weeks.
