Navy Runs All Over Notre Dame But Falls Short in the End

At one time the sports teams for the service academies were among the best in the nation, but nowadays that is not the case. Playing for one of the service academies is not exactly easy and has more challenges involved than any other school in the nation.

Regardless, they field a team week in and week out and give it their all on the field, and on Saturday it was nearly more than Notre Dame could handle.

Yeah, it sucks to lose in the end, but the Midshipmen gave the Fighting Irish one heck of a--well, fight--before losing in the end 38-34.

What makes the game--and the team in general--impressive to me is not just that they gave a good game, but how they did it. There is no secret as to what the Navy offense is going to do--run, run, and run some more.

You would think that when a team knows that is what they are going to get they would be able to stack the box and stop it, but that was not the case. Five guys had at least 40 yards and the team 331 total rushing yards.

So if you love smash mouth football watch Navy play! (Want to see the rushing TDs and monster pass play?)
