Awesome Images From the 114th Army/Navy Game

Only one game was on Saturday. It wasn't the best played game of the season. Nor is it going to factor into the bowl game picture or the national championship. More than likely no one is going to be in camp for NFL teams, and even if they do get invited they have a service commitment that will make playing NFL ball kind of hard--if they make the team.

However, it was the 114th edition of one of the most respected games in football; as many people online put it all day during the game--a game played by people willing to die for the people watching it.

This was the field on Friday, roughly 24 hours before game time.

This is how it would look a day later. Tell me that is not awesome? Go ahead--I dare you.

Prior to kickoff fans created a pretty awesome sight raising cards to spell out America's Game.

Yeah, it was pre-planned and all.

But this is still pretty damn cool.

Speaking of cool--at Kings Point I was in my share of parades, but to march on prior to this game? Goosebumps man. Goosebumps.

Of course a game of this magnitude would not be complete without a dramatic proposal on the field (that dude is an offensive lineman--and skinny!).

She said yes of course.

When you talk about cool and the military next to really big guns you have to include a fly over by the Blue Angels.

And a squadron of Apache helicopters

Kickoff was not quite as snow covered as for last Sunday's Philly/Detroit game, but it was still pretty darn cold.

When you gotta go...you gotta go!

@davidmaialetti/Twitter
So cold even the game balls got time by the heaters!

There are few games that will ever have fans as dedicated as this one. No one here is going to be leaving the game early (you hear that Saban?)!

Folks at home--young and old-- even get into the act doing push ups each time their team scores.

Than there is the game.

From Bleacher Report
It hasn't been too kind to the Black Knights lately.

This one was no different.

Rumor has it this guy had a pretty good game (146 yards rushing,

For the 12th year in a row the outcome was in favor of the Navy.

Congratulation on a game well played gentleman, and most of all thank you for the service you are doing and will do for our country.
