So if he wants to say something that the majority of the world thinks is stupid and inappropriate that is completely up to him.

Take his latest ill-advised Tweet sent out Friday night:
Apple has a new device out for Chinese people. The iOpener.

This generated a heck of a response on Twitter, one he was more than happy to respond to:
I'm so not racist.... But believe what u want... π

I promise I won't....RT @GodFatha702: @ddockett @HubbuchNYP I predict that he "fake apologizes" tomorrow. "I am sorry if I offended anyone"

The strange thing is that from the look of some of his other tweets he probably thinks he is being funny (even though he isn't).
I have learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is easy and fun as hell.π

Back in my day you knew who your real friends were because they ranked you in order of importance on Myspace.

You can see where maybe he just thought he was being funny, and that was all he intended. He just either failed to think or realize that most folks would find it offensive--or maybe he just doesn't care.
In the knee-jerk world that we live in a lot of folks are probably going to write him off. However, if you look at the rest of his Twitter feed he says and does a lot of things that are commendable like taking 50 kids to Toys R' Us for Christmas and speaking out against dead beat dads.
So while he may be a good guy (that likes to stomp on the hands of his opponents) that is far from perfect his lack of a filter is going to cost him in the long run. At 32 his playing days are winding down. The real money for football players is in the game of course, but the lasting money comes in endorsements. When a players is done playing the game checks stop, but money from endorsements can roll in for years.
But who is going to want some repping them that offends an entire segment of the population with such ease? No one.
