I couldn't stand up on skates if my life depended on it. That, combined with the growing up in Texas where it is all football all the time, and I never got into hockey as a kid. As an adult though I have developed an appreciation for the game of which I still have plenty to learn.
One thing I learned Tuesday night is that I'm glad I never did play.
Why? Because hits like the one that Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey laid on Ducks Captain Ryan Getzlaf . The way Ryan's face slams into the boards first--and so hard--man, it made my face twinge a little just watching it.
Yeah, didn't have to worry about things like that playing football and rugby.
