Famous Idaho Potato Bowl Features the Fat Guy Play of the Day Courtesy of San Diego State

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl was one of those games that made me hungry as I watched it. For some reason I just had to have some french fries, potato chips, and I even had a baked potato (loaded of course). I don't know why....

When I wasn't eating I did get a chance to watch a pair of good teams--the San Diego State Aztecs and Buffalo Bulls play a pretty decent football game.

My favorite play was the one you see above when senior offensive lineman Bryce Quigley in all his 6'5" 295 pound glory took a short pass out in the flats for a short gain. Why is it my favorite? In case you haven't read much of my blog in the past (or missed the name of it) I'm kind of partial to fat guys doing things they are not supposed to.

Although it would have been even better had he acted like a dude that is close to 300 pounds and ran over that itty bitty defensive back rather than try to side step him. Anyway...

The real hero of the day was one of his teammates--running back Adam Muema. The senior running back ran over, around, and through the Bulls for 229 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries to leads the Aztecs to a 49-24 win in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

The win gave San Diego State its first bowl win in three seasons, but just its second since 1969. So yeah--I think that a pretty good reason to give Coach a Gatorade bath.
