Any aspiring sportscasters may want to get their resume's ready because there is probably going to be an opening in Kansas City pretty soon. During a recent broadcast a local NBC broadcaster, Jack Harry, referred to the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team by something that he should have known better than to say.
Wow. It can be a little difficult to understand so if you are wondering--yes, he called the team the 'Gay-hawks.'
In this day and age you would think that even the most old fashioned people would be aware of what is okay to say and what is not okay to say on television. With the way social media spreads the word about any slip ups, gaffes, mistakes, or plain bone-headed moves can turn into national events even when committed at a local level.
There can be no acceptable explanation for this either. It's pretty clear that it was not a mistake and that he meant it as a slur.
He has to go.
I thought we were all past that now, but you can tell he's very OLD school.
ReplyDeleteyeah, it's pretty clear he thinks nothing of it.
