Kobe Bryant is Out--Again--But Is He Done?

Well, this just sucks. It appears that Kobe Bryant is going to be out once again, this time for six weeks as he recovers from a broken leg (more specifically a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau in his left knee).

The lateral what?

From Wikipedia:

A tibial plateau fracture is a bone fracture or break in the continuity of the bone occurring in the proximal part of the tibia or shinbone called the tibial plateau; affecting the knee joint, stability and motion.

So basically his knee is jacked up.

The injury should heal on its own and will not require surgery. Hopefully this doesn't become a trend. First the Achilles injury that kept him out till just a couple weeks ago, and now a knee injury that is going to sideline him for 4-6 weeks.

When you've played as long as he has the wear and tear is going to catch up to you eventually. It would suck to see one of the game's greats leave the game due to one injury after another so hopefully this will be it for awhile (or ever).
