For Ohio State players it was BCS or Bust this season. After going undefeated last season when they were banned from post season play the team thought it was good enough to go all the way this season. Up until Saturday night when they faced off with the Michigan State Spartans for the Big 10 Championship game it appeared like they were destined to be in the final BCS title game.
But then Saturday night happened.

As a fan of neither team I watched this game as an outsider that just wanted to see a good game. I didn't want to see Carlos Hyde run all over the Spartans for three hours with some scattered magic from Braxton Miller sprinkled in. I hoped it would be a contest at least, but I expected the Buckeyes to bring it home.
And I was wrong.
Big plays helped get the Spartans out to a 17-0 lead, but the Buckeyes would come back to score 24 of their own to take a 24-17 lead with a little over six minutes left in the third quarter.

Ohio State had the momentum at that point, but the Spartans defense did their part and shut the Buckeyes out the rest of the way as the offense chimed in another 17.
Final Score: Michigan State 34 Ohio State 24. So much for a shot at the BCS Championship for Ohio State.
Sparty--who was at a basketball game--was couldn't believe that people ever doubted his football team.
