Peyton Manning to his Cold Weather Critics: They Can Shove it Where the Sun Don't Shine!

When you are a living legend at what you do there are bound to be a few skeptics in this cynical world that are going to do there best to tear you down and prove you are just like the rest of us. In the case of Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning the word on him was that his kryptonite was cold weather.

Wouldn't you know it, but during Sunday's game against the Tennessee Titans it was a little cold out--18 degrees. Did it bother him?

From Bleacher Report
Absolutely not!

The Broncos in general had a little trouble getting it together against the Tennessee Titans. Midway through the second quarter the Titans appeared to be in control of the game with a 21-10 lead, but once Peyton got hot it was over.

He closed the gap to 21-20 at the half, and tore the Titans apart in the second half en route to a 51-28 victory. Peyton's stat line was as follows: 39-59 for 397 yards and four touchdowns for a QB rating of 107.8.

Yeah, sure looked like that cold weather bothered him, huh?

In an interview after the game Peyton told a local radio station what he thought of the critics that said he couldn't perform in cold weather (via Denver Post): "Whoever wrote that narrative can shove it where the sun don't shine."

Well, well! You'd have thought he was talking about an idiot kicker he once played with!

Later during the press conference he was a little more diplomatic: "I mean, I wasn't trying to answer (the criticism), because I didn't give it any validation in the first place," he said. "We had a good plan, and... guys caught the ball well."

It's all good Peyton. There is no harm in showing us that you're human and people get to you sometimes. Heck, the people that matter never doubted you for a second!
