Rex Ryan Coming Back as Head Coach of the New York Jets Next Season

Rex Ryan had every reason to be happy with his team's performance in their season finale with the Miami Dolphins. Not only did they win the game (20-7), but his quarterback played well as did his defense (see the fourth down stop here as proof).

After the game he got and even better reason to be happy.

He still has a job.

Just last week he seemed convinced that he was going to lose his job. Whether that could have been true at the time we will never know. It very well could have been his way of motivating the guys to excel these last two games. Who knows...

The last two seasons I would have said the notion was crazy, but I have to tip my hat to Rex for this season. he has done a phenomenal job of keeping the team together, getting them back on track after losses (not easy considering how bad some of them were), and bringing along Geno Smith.

I'm still not sold that Geno is the answer at QB. At times he has shined, but he's also looked like Mark Sanchez at times as well. Hopefully a off-season as the No. 1 guy will help along with another weapon or two via the draft.
