Going into Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos Phillip Rivers had close to 3900 yards and 26 touchdowns as well as a QB rating of 106.4. Should the season end today it would be his best since his rookie season (110.9). Night and day from last season, right?
He can't do it all himself of course. Rookie wide receiver Keenan Allen has played a pretty big role with 9002 yards and five touchdowns prior to Thursday night--and should be getting heavy consideration for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Allen has proven to be well worth the money that a third round pick makes. Through one half of Thursday night's game he hauled in three more passes for 29 yards and two touchdowns. Not bad for a rookie!
What makes his production even better is his reliability. Of the 85 passes thrown his way he's caught 61 of them. If that isn't impressive enough he has 14 of 20+ yards, averages close to 15 yards a catch, and does a good amount of the work on his own (350 yards after the catch).

If the pass catching ability wasn't enough, the man can truck through some people when he wants to as well!

Eddie Lacy is putting some good numbers and making a good name for himself in Green Bay so their is some pretty stiff competition for the end of season award, but if the voters have a clue Allen will be at the top of a lot of ballots.
