Stanford Dominates ASU in PAC-12 Championship Game

On paper the Pac-12 Championship game looked like it should be a good one. In fact, looking at the stats I'd dare to say that No. 11 Arizona State could have been deemed better than No. 7 Stanford. The Sun Devils are a pretty well-rounded team while the Cardinal passing offense (94th) and defense (96th) was suspect at best.

However, statistics do not win games.

From Bleacher Report
Stanford proved that once before when they beat Arizona State 42-28 back on September 21. They proved it once again in the conference championship game Saturday night.

The Sun Devils were never really in the game. Tyler Gaffney got the scoring started off quickly with a 69-yard run inside of the first minute of the game. By time the second quarter started the Cardinal had gotten out to a 28-7 lead.

I hate to say it, but at that point the whipping was on.

From Bleacher Report
Whether it was on offense or defense Stanford could do no wrong, and easily won the game 38-14.

Stanford will have its work cut out for it when it takes on the Big 10 Championship winner--Michigan State--in the Rose Bowl.
