USC Trojans Prove They Are the Most Resilient Team of the College Football Season

For all intents and purposes the USC Trojans should have had a ho hum kind of season. After getting off to such a lackluster start it would not have been unrealistic for them to fumble through the rest of the season. No, instead they turned it around after their head coach was fired going 6-2 to earn a bowl bid and become ranked in the top 25.

However, with just one game left the Trojans were hit with another challenge--their third head coach of the season.

Once again it would not have been shocking for the team to falter; for it to look a little lost or without focus--but no. Instead the Cody Kessler led offense exploded for 35 points in the first half to take a 29-point advantage over Derek Carr and the Fresno State Bulldogs en route to a 45-20 victory.

This is the kind of tenacity and resiliency that a coach can only hope that his players will have. Players do play for their coach, and the right when can get a team to play above and beyond their capabilities (as the Trojans proved this season when Kiffin was fired and Ed Orgeron put in charge). If he does his job right the players will play for the love of the game and for each other.

I think it is safe to say that the Trojans did just that this season. Congratulations on a difficult, but successful year gentleman.
