What is North Carolina's Ryan Switzer Going to do for an Encore?

Let's be real here folks. The Cincinnati Bearcats were never in the Belk Bowl. North Carolina had these guys beat from the start; maybe not the start, but right about the time Brendon Kay tackled Kareem Martin for a safety in the first quarter I thought this one had the potential to get ugly. When T.J. Logan returned the ensuing kick 78-yards for a touchdown it was pretty darn close to ugly

When Ryan Switzer returned a punt 86-yards to pay dirt it became official--this one was ugly.

What makes it pretty as can be for the Tar Heels is not only does it give them a winning record on the season, but they have a record holder in their midst as well. With his third quarter return Switzer took a place in the record books tied for most punt returns for a touchdown in a single season (five)--and he's only a freshman!

To become the career leader he'll have the next three years to get just three more. That will tie him for the FBS record; to get the NCAA one he'll need five more.

It will be a lot harder going forward though. No one is going to kick to him for the rest of his career; not if they are smart, that is.

Thanks to plays like that the Tar Heels were able to pretty much coast in the second half. Cincy got a pair of trash touchdowns to make the score look a little better than the game actually was (final score, 39-17).

Suffice it to say the guys were a little happy about their win. What do people do when they are happy? They dance.
