When Jason Kidd said he wanted to coach his former team right after retiring from basketball it seemed like a good PR move at the time. How better to drum up interest than to bring back a former player as the new coach? Plenty of former players have transitioned from player to coach so it will work--right?
It hasn't and Kidd knows it. Friday night it didn't help that his team was facing off against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the red-hot Kevin Durant.

Durant went on to torch the Nets so bad he sat the entire fourth quarter since the game was already well in hand. The funny thing is that should the playoffs start today the Nets would be the No. 7 seed, but that is just because the Eastern Conference is a lot like his team (it stinks).
