LaMichael James Wants Out of San Francisco--and the 49ers Should Let Him Go

When you are on a team that looks like it is going to be a contender for years to come you should do whatever you can to remain a part of it--right? San Francisco 49ers running back LaMichael James doesn't seem to think so.

He wants out of San Francisco.

From Bleacher Report
The former Oregon Duck sent this tweet out in to the world Thursday:

That of course set off a ton of speculation. What is he talking about?  Does he want to be let go by the 49ers? Is he being held by kidnappers? Was he hacked? One person tried to claim he heard from James and that it had nothing to do with football:

But than James refuted his claim when he sent out this:

Hmmm....so he wants out of San Fran, but why? His team was a play away from playing in back to back Super Bowls and there is no reason to think that the 49ers will not be in contention next year.

It's probably because he's not playing much, and it doesn't look like he will be anytime soon. Frank Gore is the undisputed No. 1 back, but he sits behind Kendall Hunter in the No. 3 slot. This season he carried the ball just 12 times for 59 yards.

With Gore not getting any younger you would think that a window would be opening up for him, but it's not. Next season South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is expected to be ready to go. If he ends up being anything like he was with the Gamecocks he will be the one relieving Gore and eventually owning the No. 1 slot.

So that leaves kick return duties--something he'll never get paid big money to  do (and isn't that why most guys play the game?). While glory is nice getting paid is even better. If he is going to do that he will have to go somewhere else.
