Notre Dame Stadium Earns Top Honors Among College Football Stadiums in Magazine

This is one of those things that fans will argue for ever and a day and in the end will still disagree upon--the stadium with the best experience. People have been rating them and coming up with various lists for years often with the same candidates, but in a different order. Of the many I would have to say the one with the best credentials would be the recent one put out by Stadium Journey Magazine.

Since that is the focus of their magazine you'd think they know a thing or two about them, right? Want to guess who they deemed the top-rated college stadium?

That honor goes to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame!

The magazine did a top 100 list of all stadiums and had the Notre Dame Stadium coming in at No. 8. While Notre Dame does have an awesome stadium what was surprising about the list was that no other college football stadium rated in the top 10. In fact the next one was Bryant-Denny Stadium (Alabama) at No. 26 and The Coliseum (USC) at No. 27.

It's important to note that the list was about the overall experience so while size can add to the experience it can also take away from it. I loved my experience at the Rose Bowl (No. 45) back in '95 overall, but the fact that I needed to stop twice as I climbed the steps to my seat (which was about a foot long space on a metal bench; luckily we were on the end of the row) put a damper on things.

If you want to see who made No. 1 (it will surprise you) or if your favorite stadium cracked the top 100 go here.
