WATCH: Ronda Rousey Defeats Sara McMann in Record Setting Fashion

Ronda Rousey fans did not get to see what they have come to expect out of the UFC star--victory via submission after she throws an armbar on her opponent--but they did get to see Rousey successfully defend her title in record setting fashion.

The referee stopped the fight at the 1:06 mark in the first round after Rousey gave McMann a good knee to the liver that appeared to momentarily stun McMann. Rousey got in a couple more punches before the ref stepped in to stop the fight.

Critics were quick to say that the fight was stopped too early; something that Herb Dean has done before (Renan Barao-Urijah Faber bout at UFC 169). McMann did not hesitate to come to his defense when asked about it:
"I thought it was a good fight," McMann said. "I got hit, no matter how hard you train, when get your liver stung, you're going to feel it. "I would like to get a rematch. I was trying to get back up, it was my own fault."

Not only did Rousey successfully defend her belt, but she set a couple of UFC records in the process. Her win is the fastest in the women's bantamweight division, and she tied a UFC mark for shortest time between title defenses fighting McMann just 56 days after defeating Miesha Tate.
