Technically the 2014 regular season started when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks played a couple games in Australia and there were a pair of home runs hit in that game. Sunday night saw the Dodgers and Padres open the regular season on American soil.
So when Padres outfielder Seth Smith hit this home run off of
Brian Wilson in the eighth inning it became the first homer of the season--on American soil.

The Padres went on to beat up Brian Wilson for a couple more runs (three total; two earned) before chasing him without letting him record an out.
