Nolan Ryan is one of the best executives in the game today. He did wonders with the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros are hoping he can do the same for them. He is also one of the best pitchers to ever take the mound. Not too many guys can lay claim to a resume like his--11X strikeout champ, 8X All-Star, World Series champion, jersey retired by three teams, hall of famer, career strikeout leader, 7 no--hitters.
So yeah, you could say he's pretty good--although you wouldn't know it from the ceremonial first pitch he tried to Craig Biggio.

To be fair, he is 67, wearing a suit, and hasn't played since 1993. So it's okay Nolan--we still love you man--and we especially love the 6-2 season opening win the Astros had over the Yankees!
