Johnny Manziel Tweets Support for Georgia RB Todd Gurley; Wants to #FreeGurley

If there is anyone on the planet that can understand what Georgia running back Todd Gurley is going through it is former Texas A&M gunslinger Johnny Manziel. Back in 2012 ole Johnny Football was accused of pretty much doing the exact same thing. The evidence against him was pretty much the same (non-existant), but much like Gurley he was convicted by the public off of the accusation alone.

So yeah--Johnny understands what you are going through Todd which is why he took to Twitter to show his support.

Lucky for Manziel his mess occurred during the off-season so it had no real bearing on the team other than being an annoyance. If the Twitter rumor mill is any indication this might cost Gurley his season.

With a possible sentence like that hanging overhead the hashtag #FreeGurley seems appropriate:
